These Twitch Streamers Are All About The Good Inclusive Vibes

When we started Refinery29 Twitch, we knew we wanted to use it not only to provide a fun, safe space for women and non-binary folks to share in their love of gaming, but also to spotlight the pros, gamers, and streamers who are pushing the status quo in the industry both online and IRL. But with a vast world of content creators competing for attention on Twitch alone, finding streamers who you love can be a challenge. 

Enter Tuesday Takeovers, where we invite some of our fave under-the-radar streamers onto our channel to do what they do best: game. Think of it as the Discover Weekly of Twitch where you’ll have two hours of guaranteed entertainment weekly, while also discovering talented streamers who are more than worthy of you clicking the follow or subscribe button. Ahead, read on to meet the Twitch streamers who are all about inclusivity, connecting with others, and having fun. 

Sweetxsage is a huge book lover so it makes perfect sense, then, that when they’re not highlighting her favorite titles on their channel, they’re playing cozy, story-driven games. A leader in the Twitch Pride Guild, a group offering safe space for LGBTQ+ creators, sweetxsage also uses their channel to create a welcoming co-working space where people can hang out and tackle their to-do lists together.

A participant in R29’s Valorant tournament, ImKayzie likes streaming games with a similar style such as Marvel Rivals. She’s very open about the challenges Black content creators face — especially as a Black woman in gaming — but also loves to bring the things she’s passionate about to her channel, including books, beauty, and curly hair care. And in case you dared to question how serious of a gamer she is: She’s in the process of getting a new PC built for her and is an ambassador for tech brand Elgato.

Cutegunz — better known by her nickname “Gunny” — is a full-time streamer and nursing student. She’s a predominantly FPS gamer, which means you’ll find her playing titles like Apex Legends while infusing her sense of humor into streams. She’s also sure to celebrate Black excellence on her channel and would also like to expand into creating more lifestyle and travel content too.

How would Amandaspeaks describe her streams? “A fun and inclusive place to make friends and explore the unknown,” she writes in her bio. A fan of cozy games, she likes to embark on creative adventures in titles like Palia, Wytchwood, and Animal Crossing. Beyond gaming, she’s also a big fan of music, art, astrology, and tarot.

KayCreigh streams almost daily, making her the perfect companion for your evenings. A true variety streamer, you can find her talking about card games, Pokémon, the books she’s reading, voice acting (she’s even narrated an audiobook), and playing cozy games in what she describes as the most chaotic ways possible. Ultimately, she wants her channel to be a space where people can “escape from The Horrors” and feel accepted.

Wadelady is a survivor of brain trauma who lives with PTSD, which often has her stumbling over words, and feeling confused and forgetful. So, her channel is not just a welcoming place for others, but for herself as well, as it has provided her with a work environment where she feels safe and comfortable to be herself and given her a sense of purpose. She’s open about her experiences with disability while streaming cozy content and games, such as Outer Wilds and Baldur’s Gate 3.

All things Zelda are MiszJones’ chief obsession, but you can find so much more happening on her channel. Among the list? Retro, indie, and fighting and action games, like Street Fighter. She’s the first to admit that she may not be great at allof the games she plays, but will find a way to make them as fun as possible. And because she’s so passionate about fighting games, she loves being open about why she loves them and what it’s like to navigate the male-dominated community as a Black, queer woman.
