
Sari Gueron's made a name for herself by negotiating the desires of her uptown socialite fanbase with bohemian-girl elements like Birkenstocks and handkerchief hems. Her spring collection, showcased on a square runway in the same F/ocus space used by Trovata days earlier, seemed to be tipped a bit in favor of the former demographic (Exhibit A: Vogue poster girl Lauren Santo Domingo sitting front and center). Resort-feeling slouchy blue linen surfer shorts, ruffled sundresses, and form-fitting frocks in bold purplish dot-and-leaf prints replaced fall's full skirts, but it wasn't until sequin-showered and lacy numbers showed up at the show's end that we perked up in our seats.
